Election Law Update
Changes Remain for Upcoming Midterm Elections
Earlier this month, an appellate court reinstated challenged provisions of Senate Bill 90 (SB 90). Signed into law after the 2021 Legislative Session, sections of SB 90 relating to voting by mail, 3rd party voter registration organizations, and other changes affecting voters and the voting process were struck down by a lower court in March. After an appellate court reinstated these provisions, the new requirements that your Palm Beach County Elections Office enacted this year will continue to apply through the upcoming midterm elections. In addition, we’ll now implement the provisions of Senate Bill 524 that had earlier been deemed unenforceable. If you have questions about voting in Palm Beach County, we are here to help!
